children as investment?

if anyone takes children as some kind of investment for your old age, think again.

children is a type of investment that has:
very high beta;
extremely high default risk;
rising market risk, relative to other kind of investment.
investments of this sort should yield either very high interest rate or return, in order to attract investors. unfortunately, the outcome is, most of the time, negative. one may not even get one's principle back by the end of the investment!

any rational investors will not put their money in this kind of investment. i am rational.

maybe i should invest in bonds and funds instead; at least i am guaranteed a return.

*just some random thoughts during dinner today @ Pizza Hut AMK central. the food there is, surprisingly, not bad (at least nicer than the one in Tampines)
